  • It was first described as a variety of <i>Peristylus spiranthes</i>, which was later treated as a synonym of <i>P. lacertiferus</i>. A new status of this variety was proposed because it differs from <i>P. lacertiferus</i> clearly in having almost entirely white flowers, shorter lips, and lip bearing triangular lateral lobes which are shorter than the central lobes.
